United Center Achieve Scholarship

The purpose of the Malcolm X College (MXC) Achieve Scholarships is to support students who do not meet the required SAP standards and are ineligible to receive federal and institutional aid. The scholarship will be pay tuition for Malcolm X College classes ONLY.

Students who are awarded the scholarship must meet all eligibility criteria listed below.

Eligibility:
• Must be enrolled in a degree seeking program
• Minimum GPA 1.5
• Appealed SAP hold but was denied
• Enrolled in at least 6 Credit hours that are required for your degreed seeking program
• Home Campus must be Malcolm X
• Must be a resident of the City of Chicago and/or eligible for in-district tuition

Due to the nature of the scholarship, students are encouraged to hold classes with a payment plan. Applicants will be notified of the decision regarding their scholarship application. Upon approval, processing time can take 8-10 weeks from the start of the semester before scholarship payment is applied to a student’s account. Scholarship payment is contingent on enrollment in the semester for which the scholarship application was submitted. Scholarships are not transferable to other terms. Approved students have the option to ask for payment plan suspension and should contact the Malcolm X College Business Office.
