Thomas A. Mikula Scholarship For Health Sciences
The Thomas A. Mikula Scholarship For Health Sciences was established in Fall 2025 to advance the educational interests of a student who seeks to study health sciences.
Thomas Mikula was a dedicated health sciences educator, academic tutor, student advisor and recruiter for over 34 years at Truman College. In 2009 as the result of a nomination campaign coordinated by Truman College faculty, staff and students, he received the City of Chicago’s Kathy Osterman Public Service Award for Outstanding Professional Employee given to him by then Mayor Richard M. Daley.
Funded through his generosity, the Thomas A. Mikula Scholarship for Health Sciences continues his legacy as someone recognized and appreciated by many “for being not only knowledgeable and creative, but unfailingly supportive, attentive, and compassionate toward his students.”
Two students will be selected each year, one in the fall semester and one in the spring semester, to receive a $1,500 scholarship.
