Wenona C. Johnson Scholarship

The Wenona C. Johnson scholarship was established to honor her commitment to education. Ms. Johnson returned to school at the age of 43, despite the challenges of caring for her husband and six children. She entered Kennedy-King College and went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Guidance Counseling from Roosevelt University. She obtained a position at Dawson Technical Institute and was the first African American female Chapter Chairperson at Dawson where she served for over 20 years. – Fund is for non-traditional student, female over 40, might have never attended any other college other than KKC, have a HS diploma or GED, single parent with children up to 25yrs.
